White-breasted waterhen bird is a waterbird of the rail and crake family.White-breasted Waterhen has dark slate-brown upperparts. Face and underparts are white. Flanks, vent and undertail feathers are rufous-chestnut.juvenile has greyish face.Waterhen sound are very vocal in breeding season.Length: 28-33 cm,Weight: 165-328 g.

Freshwater marshes,mangroves, reedbeds, grasslands, ricefields, orchards, parks and gardens and near small streams and pools.
